Enterprise Multi-Database Edition FAQ
Q: What’s included in the Enterprise Multi-Database Edition?
A: The AICE Enterprise Multi-Database Edition contains the following AICE-related products:
- AICE® Millennium Version 4.5 software
- One year Annual Maintenance and Service Agreement (AMSA) for all facilities. Each year thereafter, the Central Office will be billed for the AMSA renewal.
- These optional products, if selected, must be purchased by all facilities in the group.
- AICE Basic Download Solution
- QTrendz® (control chart software for healthcare)
- Web-based training classes are available for purchase by one or more facilities. Pricing is per Internet connection:
- Download
- Data Entry
- Line Lists, Frequencies
- Rates, NHSN Comparisons
- QTrendz®
Q: Under what circumstances would our group want the Enterprise Multi-Database Edition? A. This edition is for multiple facilities that want to centralize IT management of AICE on a wide-area network AND
- ICPs want to maintain separate databases
- Central Office does not want to analyze data across facilities
Q: Will all facilities in the group have to use the exact same database (or setup) if we use Enterprise Multi-Database Edition?
A: No. Each facility designs its own databases and collects its own data.
Q: Some of our facilities are already using AICE. What will happen to their existing data if they want the Enterprise Multi-Database Edition?
A: AICE version 4.5 will convert all AICE databases from version 2.5 or greater.
Q: Some or all of our facilities already have AICE. Why would we want to upgrade to the Enterprise Multi-Database Edition? What will it cost to upgrade?
A: Upgrade to the Enterprise Multi-Database Edition adds the convenience of managing AICE for multiple facilities from a central IT location, while ICPs continue to design and control individual databases at their individual facilities. This Edition allows a single server to run AICE for multiple facilities, potentially lowering IT costs. This Edition also simplifies the management of AMSA payments, which are made from a single location. If a group chooses this Edition, a custom quote is prepared so that you pay only for the new components needed to standardize all facilities (for example, AICE Basic Download Solution or QTrendz), one-time platform upgrade fee for version 4, plus customized Implementation Service fees for your particular needs.
Q: What are the hardware requirements for the Enterprise Multi-Database Edition?
A: The hardware requirements are described at http://www.icpa.net/aice-hw-requirements.html. The Enterprise Multi-Database Edition must be run on a WAN with a high speed Internet connection.

It used to take me a full day to run monthly reports, but using AICE I can get them printed and mailed in two hours. One of the best reports is doing yearly surgeon specific reports. They get their individual rates compared with their peers. This specific feedback has resulted in a 30% decrease of rates.

What used to take me a week to organize and analyze data from each of 8 clinics, now takes less than 2 hours-department productivity savings of 456 hours, a saving of
$18,180. Non-traditional uses of AICE include MRSA Patient Registry, employee competency exam registry, results of special training programs.
